Avalon Hotel Offering January 'Girlfriend Get-Away Weekends'

AVALON, NJ (CBS) --Now that the holidays are over and the kids are back in school, area moms need a BREAK.
One Jersey Shore hotel is catering to them by offering "Girlfriend Get-away Weekends" where they can go and let their hair down with their best friend.

The Golden Inn's General Manager Kevin Sterling says Avalon really heats up in January when these ladies hit the town.
"Come down on Friday, we'll put you up. Spend the weekend with us...band, dinner, breakfast, spa treatments—we open up the island of Avalon for all the ladies," Sterling explains.
Sue Southward is the ambassador for the ladies...and she says they deserve it!
"The women are really the ones that put together the holidays the majority of the time. Between Thanksgiving, Christmas, getting the shopping done, the decorating inside the home…by January, we are really popular with the girlfriend's calls. They are ready to get away!"
Southward also says the same women come back each year and have made friends with other groups over the years.
