Authorities: Shot Fired In Bank Robbery In Plymouth Meeting
PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa., (CBS) – The FBI and Plymouth Township Police are asking for the public's help to identify a person wanted in connection with a bank robbery in Plymouth Meeting, Montgomery County.
Investigators say it happened at about 3:51 p.m. Wednesday at the Bank of America branch on the 400 block of Plymouth Road.
According to investigators, a person entered the branch, presented a demand note to a teller and brandished a small black semi-automatic pistol. Investigators say after allegedly obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the man turned to leave the bank and then fired one round from the pistol in the direction of the teller windows.
"After getting money from the tellers he turned to leave and before he left he turned around and he fired a round back in the direction of the teller windows. Thankfully nobody was struck by the bullet. He fired one round and then fled the area of the bank on foot," said J.J. Klaver with the FBI.
Investigators say no one was struck by the bullet, and there were no injuries.
Investigators say the person is described as a male in his mid 20's, 5'7" tall with a muscular build and a thin mustache and beard, wearing a white hat with a "Nike swoosh" on the front, a plain white t-shirt, and glasses.
Investigators say the man is believed to be the same person who robbed a Wells Fargo Bank branch in Bryn Mawr, Pa. on May 14th.
This person is considered armed and dangerous, according to investigators.
