Attendance Down For Phillies 2013 Season
By Mike DeNardo
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - There are a few more empty seats at Citizens Bank Park this season, compared to last year.
This time last season, the Phils were selling out every game; this season, not quite.
Phillies 2013 attendance, through 18 home games, is down 6,700 per game compared to last season. Fans like Nancy at the ballpark ticket window have noticed.
"Last year I couldn't come down to this window and get any ticket I wanted. This year I can. So there's not as many people here. Last year they were sold out lots of games. This year they're not sold out," says Nancy.
The Phils are seventh in attendance right now. Last season they led all of baseball.
It's a trend to keep an eye on, because lower attendance translates to less revenue to spend on the team payroll.
