Area On High Alert After Two Attempted Child Lurings Reported In Wrightstown

WRIGHTSTOWN, Pa. (CBS) - Police in Bucks County are investigating the reports of two attempted child lurings in the past three weeks.
Both incidents happened in the Wrightstown area of Bucks County, according to Newtown Township Police Lieutenant Glen Forsythe.
"One was on March 28th, where a male approached young girls and kept yelling at them to 'come on, come on,' and opened the passenger side door," Forsythe said.
The girls ran into their house and told their mother, who notified police.
In this case, the suspect was described as a middle-aged white male, with silver hair and a mustache. The victim was driving a dark blue, mid-sized car.
The second incident occurred at about 8 p.m. on April 14th. A nine-year-old boy was outside his home on Jane Chapman Drive when a male driving a dark SUV stopped and asked the child if he wanted some candy.
The boy ran into his home and told his parents what happened. The nine-year-old described the suspect as a white male possibly in his 30's.
In each instance, the kids gave similar descriptions of the vehicle, a dark-colored SUV or mid-sized car. The descriptions of the man are slightly different, but investigators still believe the same guy was involved in both incidents.
The Council Rock School District sent out an e-mail Tuesday alerting all parents to what happened and police are making their presence known with stepped up patrols, but both the township and the school system are on high alert.
"It's horrific…I think it's horrible. I'm so glad they let everyone know, but we're on pins and needles. It's scary," one parent said.
"You're Petrified. Petrified. They're your world," another parent, Melissa Nicholson, added.
