Atlantic City Promoting Shore Trips With 'Toll Free Tuesdays' in October
By David Madden
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) -- Atlantic City tourism officials will kick off a new fall campaign on Monday in Philadelphia.
One aspect of that tourism campaign will give drivers what could be considered a "free ride" on certain days next month.
The "Toll Free Tuesdays" are coming to the Atlantic City Expressway every Tuesday in October. The Atlantic City Alliance will pick up the cost of eastbound tolls from noon till midnight on the 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th.
"It's just a midweek marketing idea which will help highlight the midweek hotels, dining, gaming, promotions, great entertainment deals, and it's all at a truly wallet friendly price," says Alliance spokesman Jeff Guaracino.
So what will this cost the Atlantic City Alliance? Guaracino won't say, but the agency has put down a deposit with the South Jersey Transportation Authority based on estimations and will settle up after the promotion is over.
