Atlantic City Police Look For Answers In Alleged Assault

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) - Police are asking for the public's help regarding an assault on a 22-year-old Pennsylvania woman early Sunday morning in Atlantic City.

Atlantic City detectives say the woman was walking along the boardwalk at around 2 a.m., after leaving a Trump Casino bar, when a man wearing an orange shirt and blue jeans tried to befriend her.

Investigators say the woman told the man to leave her alone. He reacted by picking her up, taking her to the beach, and then he tried to assault her. The victim screamed and slapped the man in the face. He ran away and witnesses called police. The woman did not require medical attention.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen the incident to call them at 609-347-5766.
