Atlantic City To Casinos Reopen, Evacuation Order Lifted
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — The first Atlantic City casino has reopened after being closed nearly five days due to Superstorm Sandy.
The state's Division of Gaming Enforcement says the Golden Nugget Atlantic City opened at 11:30 a.m. Friday and that Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa is scheduled to open at 4 p.m.
It's not clear when the city's 10 other casinos will reopen.
Gov. Chris Christie announced Friday that the casinos could start reopening. Each facility needs to get regulators to sign off before they can welcome gamblers.
The roads into Atlantic City also opened Friday morning.
