Atlantic City Casinos Cut Prices To Gain Customers
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) -- From $10 concert tickets to $3 steak dinners, Atlantic City is using low-cost incentives to try to bring more gamblers through the casino doors.
Many casinos in the nation's second-largest gambling market are focusing on adding luxurious amenities like spas, pools, and 5-star restaurants to go after high-end guests.
But others are competing just as fiercely at the other end of the spectrum. They're going after low-rollers with low-cost promotions aimed at getting enough of them—and their limited disposable cash—into the casinos.
The Trump Taj Mahal recently hosted a concert by Three Dog Night and Creedence Clearwater Revisited that cost $10 a ticket. CEO Bob Griffin said the cut-price show brought in another $100,000 in profits that night.
It's just another way the resort is trying to hold off fierce competition from casinos in neighboring states.
