Atlantic City Casino Resisting Donald Trump Bid To Remove Name
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — The owners of the Trump Taj Mahal are fighting back against Donald Trump's bid to have his name removed from the struggling casino.
Trump Entertainment Resorts is resisting a legal bid by Donald and Ivanka Trump to force the company to scrub the Trump name from its lone remaining casino.
The company agreed to remove the Trump name from the now-closed Trump Plaza, but refuses to do likewise at the Taj Mahal, which it is trying to prevent from closing next month.
The Trumps say Trump Entertainment, with which they no longer have any role, allowed the casinos to deteriorate, which damages the Trumps' personal brand.
The company last week got a bankruptcy judge to scrap its union contract, and is now seeking massive government aid to stay afloat.
