At MLK Event In NJ, Bill Cosby Urges Parents To Monitor Their Kids More Closely

GLASSBORO, N.J. (CBS) -- Entertainer and comedian Bill Cosby headlined a Martin Luther King Day fundraiser today at Rowan University.
Cosby provided a mix of smiles and brutal, thought-provoking honesty in his King Day address at Rowan University, in Glassboro.
Cosby said Martin Luther King's dream is not "a done deal." A major reason why, he said, is that adults have failed to speak out against injustice -- and that too many have failed to provide direction for their children.
"You don't just allow them to leave, or come and go, without checking," Cosby told the crowd. "There's too much looseness in this world in what we're supposed to be doing as parents."
The event supported a scholarship fund for minority students.
