Astronaut Buzz Aldrin Remembers Walking On The Moon With Armstrong

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A few years ago when astronaut Buzz Aldrin was in Philadelphia in 2009, he spoke about his memories of his famous walk on the moon with colleague Neil Armstrong.
Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon after Neil Armstrong recalls that significant moment in history, when his crew made it to the moon with just 20 seconds of fuel left.
"At 60 seconds, we were a little less than 100 feet and I was getting a little concerned, but you can do an awful lot in 60 seconds."
With Neil Armstrong at the controls, Aldrin says the crew made a safe landing.
"Neil was able to maneuver to a successful place when we touched down and that really opened the door to so many other things."
Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon on Apollo 11 in July 1969. A third crew member, Michael Collins was also on the mission but did not step outside the spacecraft.
