Art Auction To Be Held At Playhouse In Bucks County
By Brad Segall
NEW HOPE, Pa. (CBS) - The newly renovated Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope has been an inspiration for several local artists and their work will be available for you to buy Saturday night from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. during an event designed to raise money for the theater.
As part of New Hope's Annual Arts and Crafts Festival the Playhouse will open its courtyard to the pre-selected artists to allow them to create their pieces.
That artwork will be available to the public during a reception and silent auction starting at six o'clock. The artist can then donate some of the proceeds back to the Playhouse for its future preservation.
PR and Marketing Director Mandee Kuenzle says there's already been lots of interest in some pieces that have already been finished.
"We already have people bidding on Facebook sending us messages [saying] 'I want that piece now, what will it cost me?'" says Kuenzle.
She believes the theater, which used to be an old grist mill along the Delaware River, gives off some sort of vibe that just brings out the creativity in many of the local artists.
