Arrest Made In Fatal Multi-Vehicle Accident In Edgewater Park
MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. (CBS) -- The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office has announced the arrest of a Camden man in the multi-vehicle accident that left one woman dead and several others injured in Edgewater Park Monday afternoon.
Floyd M. Jones, 48, of Camden, N.J., has been charged with one count of Causing a Death while Driving with a Suspended License and several other charges for his involvement in the accident.
Prosecutor's Office spokesman Joel Bewely says it was about 1 p.m. Monday when an Jones, traveling south on Route 130 at Cooper Street in an SUV, collided with the rear of a second vehicle.
The second vehicle was pushed into a bus stop, then into a light standard, which fell over.
At the same time, the SUV flipped over onto its roof and struck two other vehicles in traffic.
The victim was a passenger in the SUV and was pronounced dead at Cooper University Hospital in Camden at 4:30 p.m. Her identity is not being released.
Twelve other people were injured and were taken to Cooper Hospital and Lourdes Hospital in Willingboro. Their conditions are unavailable.
