Arrest Made In Deadly Hit-And-Run In Nicetown
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia Police say an arrest has been made in connection with a deadly hit-and-run in Nicetown.
Terrie Fleming, 45, of Philadelphia, surrendered herself Wednesday to Accident Investigation Division headquarters.
On October 4, Ceeanna Pate, 19, was walking on Clarissa Street near Brunner when she was struck by a passing vehicle. Police say the vehicle immediately fled the scene after the accident.
Pate was transported to Temple University Hospital, where she later died from her injuries on October 9.
Through investigation, police say, a video of the crash lead to the identity of the vehicle and the operator. This resulted in an arrest warrant obtained for the defendant.
Fleming is charged with Homicide by Vehicle, Involuntary Manslaughter, Accident Involving Death and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
