Arrest Made In 2010 Strangulation Death Of Kensington Woman

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police say an arrest has been made in a homicide initially linked to the Kensington strangler.

Allison Edwards, 22, of the 1600 block of Womrath Street, was strangled to death on December 3, 2010. Edwards death was initially investigated as having a possible link to the so-called Kensington Strangler.

Police say although the death was similar to others committed around the same time, it was not part of the on-going pattern.

Just over a year later, on January 4, 2012, police issued an arrest warrant for Williams Walton, 40, in connection to Allison's death. Walton was charged five days later with Allison's murder.

Police did not specify the relationship between Allison and Walton, nor did they specify what led them to Walton.
