Aramark To Move Hundreds Of Jobs From Philadelphia To Nashville
By Pat Loeb
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia food giant Aramark is reducing its local workforce. 300 jobs will move to Nashville.
Aramark picked Nashville for its Business Services Center, which will consolidate financial and human resources services that currently are dispersed among several cities. The center will employ a thousand people when the transition is complete in three years. 300 of those jobs will come from its headquarters here.
Spokesman Tom Sueta says the affected employees can apply to follow their jobs to Nashville.
He says Philadelphia was a finalist for the Business Services Center but company officials decided Nashville was more geographically central, among other assets.
