Apple Slices Recalled Due To Listeria Danger

SWEDESBORO, N.J. (CBS) - Packaged pre-sliced apples sold in local fast food restaurants, as well as convenience and grocery stores, are being recalled because of possible listeria contamination.
No illnesses have been reported so far, but Swedesboro, New Jersey-based Ready Pac Foods has issued the voluntary recall after listeria bacteria were found on equipment used to produce apple products.
The recall covers 36 states, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. The packaged apple slices are distributed to McDonalds, Burger King, Wawa and Wegmans. The recalled products have use-by dates from July 8th through August 20th.
