Apple Sends Out Cryptic Invitations For New Product, Perhaps iPad Mini?
By technology editor Ian Bush
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Apple has sent out invitations to another product unveiling next Tuesday.
The card says "we've got a little more to show you."
Cryptic, but c'mon -- "little" has got to mean a smaller version of the iPad says Darren Murph with Engadget.com:
"If an iPad mini is half the price of a full-sized iPad, well, that's going to fit into a lot more budgets than a full-sized iPad."
With this rumored 7.85" tablet, Apple wants to compete with the smaller-priced Kindle Fire from Amazon, Google's Nexus 7, and the Nook from Barnes and Noble.
The cost will be key; with the new iPod Touch at $200, it's thought Apple wouldn't charge less than $250, even $300 for the iPad Mini.
