Police ID Victim, Shooter In Murder-Suicide At Spring Garden High-Rise

PHILADELPHIA(CBS) -- Investigators say a husband fatally shot his wife inside their Center City high-rise apartment before turning the gun on himself and taking his own life.
The discovery was made at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Museum Towers hi-rise apartments near 18th and Buttonwood Streets in the Spring Garden section of the city.
Investigators say 30-year-old Carlos Eugene Acosta fatally shot his wife, 29-year-old Rio Acosta Magden before taking his own life.
Rio, a nurse at Hahnemann, was found dead in a bedroom area and her husband's body was found nearby.
The hospital released a statement after learning of Rio's death:
"Hahnemann University Hospital is shocked and saddened by the loss of one of our nurses. Rio was a valued member of our nursing staff and a true leader in her department. We express our deepest sympathies to her family during this difficult time."
The suspected weapon was recovered at the scene and sent to a crime lab for testing.
Investigators believe the incident may have stemmed from a domestic problem.
