Another Pa. Death Attributed To Sandy, Bringing Total To 15
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Another death in Pennsylvania has been attributed to the storm that struck the East Coast earlier this week.
The Lehigh County coroner's office said Friday that a 93-year-old man from Upper Macungie Township died of hypothermia in his home while the power was out.
That brings the number of deaths in Pennsylvania to 15.
About 258,000 Pennsylvania utility customers were still without power by late afternoon Friday, down from the 1.2 million outages at the peak of the storm.
In the Philadelphia area, Peco still had 110,000 outages but hoped to have 90 percent back by midnight Friday. The utility said some remote portions of Montgomery and Bucks counties might not have service restored until early next week.
