Another Beautiful Day On The Horizon
By Kate Bilo
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A little taste of fall in the air today as cool air invaded from the north and west! It was a sunny and beautiful morning but the clouds rolled in by afternoon - part of a phenomenon I like to call "self-destructive sunshine." This simply means that the warm morning sun heated up the ground, and those pockets of warmed air began to rise. With cooler air aloft, these little bubbles of warmth created atmospheric instability, leading to cloud formation.
Clouds will clear tonight as things cool down, and we'll end up in the low 60's with a clear sky. Another beautiful day in store tomorrow, with highs in the low 80's and lots of sunshine, and we should keep the sun for Thursday. But it is still full summer, meaning we can't keep the humidity around for too long - it creeps back in later in the week with an increased chance for a shower or t-storm, especially by Friday.
The weekend looks mostly cloudy with the threat for at least a few showers. So enjoy this beautiful weather while it's here!
