Angela Lansbury First Star Honoree of Bucks County Playhouse Hall of Fame

NEW HOPE, Pa. (CBS) -- Legendary actress Angela Lansbury is the first inductee in the Bucks County Playhouse "Hall of Fame."
The five-time Tony award winner appeared on stage at the famous playhouse more than sixty years ago, long before she became an icon on Broadway, but playhouse producing director Jed Bernstein says the choice was easy.
He says Lansbury, now 87, continues to work and is an inspiration to a younger generation of talent now performing in New Hope.
"When we first came in and started working with the playhouse two or three years ago, she was one of the first people to raise her hand and tell her story of when she came to perform," he recalls.
Bernstein says the Hall of Fame is a way to recognize the actors who made their mark on the iconic New Hope stage. Every fall, he says, they hope to induct another performer who will get a brick in the walkway in front of the playhouse, eventually creating a Walk of Fame.
