Andy Reid Says He Won't Step Down

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – As the losses grow progressively more embarrassing, and fans get progressively more frustrated, many have wondered if Andy Reid will still be the head coach at season's end. If it's up to Reid, he's not going anywhere.
Reid told the press at his weekly news conference that he can't get up in front of the team and ask them to give their all, if he's not willing to do the same. "That's a cop out," Reid said on Monday. "That's not the way I'm wired."
"Nobody wants to win more than Jeffrey [Lurie]. He's disappointed and rightly so. He feels the same way we do," Reid said.
Reid said he understands that he and the team are letting down the fans, and the city.
The Eagles lost to the Redskins on Sunday, 31-6, the team's sixth straight loss
"I believe it's fixable. We've got to eliminate mistakes," Reid said. "There are no excuses."
Reid updated the status on two stars who are suffering from concussions, Michael Vick and LeSean McCoy. Reid said that though Vick is improving, he is not "baseline" yet, and still in stage one. McCoy, who Reid said doesn't appear to be injured as seriously as Vick, is still in stage one of concussion evaluation.
Many questioned McCoy even being in the game when he was injured. The Eagles trailed the Redskins by 25 points, with 1:41 remaining in the game. "I don't regret it, it happened. I wish he wouldn't have been hurt," Reid said.
