Andy Reid Names Nick Foles Eagles Starting QB For Remainder Of Season

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Andy Reid made it official today at his weekly press conference, Nick Foles will start at quarterback for the Eagles for the remainder of the season.
Many assumed, with the Eagles record at 3-9 and almost no chance at making the playoffs, that Foles would continue to start so the team could continue to evaluate the rookie. However, because Vick has yet to pass the ImPACT portion of his concussion recovery, no official declaration regarding the starting quarterback had to be made. Reid said that although Vick was improving in his recovery from a concussion, Foles will start regardless of Vick's health. "[Foles] is the starter, and we'll see how he does," Reid said.
Vick will take the ImPACT test again today. If he passes, he could be available to back up Foles on Sunday against the Bucs. "The number one thing I want [Vick] to do is get healthy," Reid said.
Reid said he spoke to Vick about the change, and Vick was "positive and on board" with the decision.
Foles was 22-34 for 251 yards and one touchdown Sunday night against the Cowboys. It was his third start of the season, and most impressive performance. The Eagles are 0-3 in Foles' three starts, and have lost eight straight games.
