Andrew Bynum Says He Is Starting To Feel Better, And He's Better Than Dwight Howard
By Spike Eskin
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Sixers fell to 12-12 after Sunday night's loss to the Lakers, missing their point guard Jrue Holiday, and still missing their centerpiece Andrew Bynum.
Holiday's foot sprain is still considered to be a "day-to-day" injury, but of course Bynum's problems are more complicated. Bynum did have some good news last night, as his new team faced his old team.
From the Daily News' Bob Cooney:
"The update is that I'm feeling much better. From the beginning of this year, the state of the injury when I see the doctore hopefully I'll be cleared for impact. Only the left knee (is hurting) the right knee is fine."
Asked if it was doing better than last week when he said it hurt just to walk, Bynum said: "It's better from then, definitely improvement. Not really, just shooting around a little bit with the guys. I'm starting to feel better."
Bynum's return date has changed somewhat regularly since his arrival in Philadelphia.
He did have some other things to say last night, including that he is a better player than Dwight Howard. More from Bob Cooney:
I don't regret anything. Personally, they traded No. 1 (him) for No. 2 (Dwight Howard) and that is what happened. I think Dwight is a great player and has to get accustomed to playing and not touching the ball on every play."
Dwight Howard hasn't played up to the level he's accustomed to this season, perhaps due to off-season back surgery. He has however, played.
