Analysis: With Two Debates To Go, The Heat Is On
By Special Contributor Larry Kane
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - As time is winding down, the stakes are getting higher in the election.
With 24 days left until decision day, here's the lowdown.
Romney, according to several polls, has taken a four to six point lead in Florida and has formidably tightened the margins in Nevada, Wisconsin, Virginia, Colorado, Michigan and New Hampshire.
Obama maintains a lead in Ohio, but it's closer there. National tracking polls show a dead heat with Romney leading by a point or two...well within the margin of error. In Pennsylvania, a decent lead for the President according to the CBS poll although one poll shows a tighter race.
Obama appears to have a small edge in fundraising and boasts of a better ground organization. Romney has momentum, and with all that considered, the second debate on Tuesday will be a key moment, with the final debate coming six days later.
