Analysis: Romney Acceptance Speech Heavy On Obama Attacks, Heavier On Autobiography

TAMPA, Fla. (CBS) - Romney was very heavy on the Obama attacks, heavier on autobiography and still light on the details of his recovery program, but it was a speech filled with Americana from its story of family roots, building businesses and family pride.
The millions of people outside of this convention will decide if the speech will speed him toward the White House, but Pennsylvania Delegate, Bucks County State Representative Bernie O'Neill says he's thrilled with the candidate.
"You're talking about a gentleman who was the Republican governor of the most liberal state in the union, where there's only 13 percent Republican and almost took out a Kennedy for Senate. So, I don't think anybody has accused him of being extreme right-wing. But, I think he's bringing all those groups together here at the Republican Party."
For a delegate like Aubrey Fenton from Burlington County, it's been an upbeat experience.
"Every year, you have a different organization. You have a new people, you have a different energy. And I saw more diversity this year than I saw four years ago in Minnesota. I'm seeing more people of different age groups. So, I think it's an area in which we're improving."
For O'Neill, Fenton and their fellow area delegates it was a week of ideology, speeches, and lots of verbal attacks against the Democrats and a ton of hope, especially in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Three states bathed in political blue.
Now, the attention shifts to Charlotte, North Carolina, where the Democratic National Convention begins next week.
