Analysis: It's A Good Sunday For Obama
By Special Contributor Larry Kane
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – It's a good Sunday for the Obama campaign. Poll numbers are encouraging following the Democratic convention.
There are still a little over eight weeks left to the big day, so this is not exactly definitive, but two daily tracking polls, Gallup and Rasmussen, show the President in a four point lead over Mitt Romney; 49 to 45.
A traditional poll, Reuters-Ipsos, shows the same margin. More importantly, the Rasmussen tracking poll shows the President with a 52 percent approval rating - his highest in months.
The polls come three days after the end of the Democratic convention and before Romney launched what could be as high as a $10 million ad buy in eight swing states.
