Amtrak Resuming Full Service Following Two-Day Cold Snap
By Robin Culverwell
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Amtrak's Acela Express, Northeast Regional, Empire, Keystone and other corridor train services are expected to resume normal operation on a full schedule, effective tomorrow.
The schedules had been modified for yesterday and today because of the cold snap.
Amtrak had said on Monday it would run fewer trains because fewer people would be traveling. They now expect that volume will pick back up, so they'll be back at full schedule on tomorrow.
Passengers who bought a ticket but chose not to travel due to this service disruption can receive a refund or a voucher for future travel; they need to contact Amtrak to do so.
