Amtrak, NJ Transit Service Resumes After Accident; Delays Expected
WOODBRIDGE, N.J. (AP) — Amtrak has resumed service at reduced speeds between Philadelphia and New York City.
Service had been suspended Monday afternoon due to a fatal accident on the tracks in New Jersey, but resumed a short time later.
A single track is now open for use in both directions.
The accident occurred near the Metropark station in Woodbridge Township. But further details were not immediately available.
The accident also spurred New Jersey Transit to briefly suspend rail service on the Northeast Corridor in both directions between Metropark and Trenton. It was restored later Monday afternoon, though delays of up to an hour were expected.
