Aloha From The Philadelphia Flower Show

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – "We've been coming maybe about 5 or 6 years and today was the opening day so we thought how perfect," Diane Kelley of Hackettstown New Jersey.
Hawaii is the inspiration for this year's annual Flower Show.
It's very tranquil, the smell is really beautiful with the flowers," said Robert Keri of New Milford, New Jersey.
You can ride the blue waves without getting wet and imagine sitting on the front porch of your own pacific paradise. Pele's Garden is one of the main attractions at the convention center.
"Pele is the Goddess who created the Islands of Hawaii," said Alan Jaffe of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. "It's a very passionate story of a love and because of her feelings, the volcanoes rose from the ocean and islands if Hawaii were created."
Bright blooming flowers and water falls have visitors snapping pictures of this little get-a-way, that's so close to home, for some of us. John Harvey of Chicago says this is his first Philadelphia flower show.
"I've been to Hawaii and this is a great sampling of it," said Harvey. "I recommend it to all my friends."
In 1829 the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society planted the seed for the event which continues to grow. This year more than 250,000 flower lovers will check out dozens of exhibits at the Convention Center.
