Allen Iverson Plans On Attending Sixers Game Tonight

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A legendary rivalry, a hard fought series, and now a Sixers idol. Allen Iverson plans on attending tonight's Eastern Conference Semi-Finals game 6 at the Wells Fargo Center between the Sixers and the Celtics, sources have confirmed.
Iverson played 10 full seasons for the Sixers, after they selected him first overall in the 1996 NBA Draft. He led the team to the NBA Finals in 2001, where they were defeated four games to one by the Lakers.
He was traded to the Denver Nuggets during the 2006-07 season after playing 15 games for the Sixers. He returned to the team (after stints in Detroit as well as Denver) during the 2009-10 season to play 25 games. His season was cut short due to several factors, including injuries and his daughter's illness.
The crowd is sure to give Iverson a rousing ovation, as memories of his reign in Philadelphia have been strong recently. That's perhaps due to the team's deepest playoff run since Iverson was on the team. Though he was polarizing as a player here, the city has grown to appreciate his fantastic play as time has passed.
