All Eyes on Tiger Woods Despite First-Round Stumble
by KYW's Mike DeNardo
Second-round play began on Friday morning at the AT&T National golf tournament at Aronimink in Newtown Square, Pa.
Fans were packed ten-deep around the tee, as Tiger Woods smacked his first drive of the day right down the middle of the fairway. And as Nick Lombardi of Harrisburg, Pa. found out, Tiger was in no mood for small talk:
"He's very intimidating, to be honest. We were down there and he walked by, and he just walked straight ahead, doesn't even look at anyone. It's cool, really cool."
(DeNardo:) "Cool because he was in that zone?"
"Yeah. He's in his Tiger Zone. It's just intimidating. You say something to him and he doesn't even look over. He just keeps walking his walk."
And that intensity is what his fans came to see.
Woods finished the first round on Thursday three over par and seven strokes behind the leader (see related story).
