Again: More Car Tires Slashed In Mayfair
By Steve Beck, Al Novack
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are once again investigating numerous tire slashings in the city's Mayfair section Monday.
According to investigators, neighbors in the 4200 block of Aldine Street began finding tires slashed on their cars at about 5 a.m.
Authorities say tires on 10 cars were slashed sometime between late Sunday evening and early Monday morning.
There has been an ongoing problem with tire vandalism in the Mayfair section of Northeast Philadelphia since October of last year. Dozens of cars have been vandalized -- more than 80 tires slashed -- since the start. A suspect was arrested in connection with nine of the slashings, but no arrests have been made in the majority of the tire vandalism.
So far, no arrests have been made in Monday morning's vandalism.
