After 'Worst' Day Of The Week, Temperatures Will Be Heating Back Up
By Geoff Bansen
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Wednesday is going to be the worst day of the week - you know the weather is getting nicer when you can say that mostly cloudy and mid 70s is the 'worst'!
A weak frontal boundary draped to the north of the Delaware Valley will bring clouds and some showers to parts of the area today. It certainly won't be a washout, especially the further south you are, and temperatures will be rather comfortable. The average high for today of 71 has already been reached, and we expect to eclipse that by a few more degrees. Clouds decrease tonight and sunshine returns for Thursday and Friday.
With Hurricane Awareness Week and the official start of hurricane season just a few weeks away, we already have our first concern in the Atlantic. A disorganized area of showers and thunderstorms is expected to get its act together as the week progresses, and has a slight to moderate potential to turn into a subtropical system. It will move agonizingly slowly north over the next several days, and won't pose a threat to the region. However, clouds that stream north from it could impact us over the weekend, and would cause a slight hiccup in what would otherwise be a stellar weekend. Either way, temperatures are going to be heating back up right on through the weekend, so keep that summer gear on standby!
