After Snowout, Flyers Host Hurricanes

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – It was the rare indoor hockey game postponed because of snow.

The Flyers and the Carolina Hurricanes were postponed on Tuesday night because of the intense snowstorm which blanketed the area. The game was rescheduled for Wednesday night at the Center.

Philadelphia comes into this game off a shootout loss on Monday to the New York Islanders. The Flyers blew a 3-1 third-period lead in that one, eventually falling, 4-3.

The Flyers have been up-and-down over the last couple of weeks, going 2-2-2 in their last six games. Overall, Philadelphia has 56 points, that's good for third place in the Metropolitan Division.

The Hurricanes have 49 points, which is tied for 7th in the division.

These two teams have met twice this season with Carolina winning both games. Both were 2-1 finals, with one game going to overtime.

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer about this match-up.
