After Open Cup Win, Union Ready For Toronto
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Philadelphia Union are definitely keeping busy these days.
After a wild 5-3 loss in Montreal in MLS action on Saturday, the Union returned to Chester on Tuesday and pulled out a 2-1 victory over the Ocean City Nor'easters in the third round of U.S. Open Cup play. That allows them to advance to face D.C. United in the fourth round of the Open Cup on June 12th.
But next on the agenda is a return to MLS play on Saturday as the Union visit Toronto F.C.
In MLS action, Philadelphia is 5-5-3 on the season and that is good for fifth place in the Eastern Conference.
Last time the Union battled Toronto, they played to a 1-1 tie in Chester back on April 13th.
KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Kerith Gabriel, the Union's Digital Media Manager, to get his thoughts on the team to this point.
