After Long Road Trip, Flyers Back Home To Host Montreal
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Flyers are back home after a long six-game road trip and on Thursday night they will host the Montreal Canadiens.
The Flyers wrapped up that road trip on Wednesday night in Chicago. The Blackhawks punished the Flyers with a five-goal second period, en route to a 7-2 win. The Orange and Black went 2-3-1 on the road trip, losing the last three games (one in shootout).
Philadelphia comes into this game with 29 points thanks to a 13-15-3 record. That's good for a tie for sixth place in the Atlantic Division.
Montreal has had an outstanding season to this point. The Canadiens are 19-10-3 and their 41 points have them in second-place in the Atlantic Division, just three points behind first-place Boston. One of Montreal's wins came at the expense of the Flyers. The Canadiens grabbed a 4-1 win in Montreal back on October 5th.
Former Flyer Danny Briere is in his first season in Montreal. In 22 games, he has five goals and five assists.
Steve Mason is expected to get the start in net for for the Flyers in this one.
