After Big Night In Detroit, Couturier, Flyers, Ready For Dallas

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Flyers are enjoying a couple of well-deserved days off before they continue their six-game road trip in Dallas on Saturday.
Craig Berube's squad picked up one of its more impressive wins of the season on Wednesday night, rallying from a 3-1 deficit in Detroit by scoring five unanswered goals and winning 6-3.
"We kind of needed that kind of win," Flyers forward Sean Couturier told KYW Newsradio on Thursday. "Since the start of the year, we haven't been getting those goals going once we're trailing. But last night we kind of exploded and it feels good for our confidence."
Couturier had a huge game against the Red Wings, scoring a pair of goals and adding a pair of assists. The 21-year-old forward did not score a goal in the first 19 games of this season. But since then he has five in his last nine games, including four in the last five.
"As a line, me, (Steve Downie and Matt Read), we're doing a good job," Couturier says. "We seem to find each other out there and we're having a lot of fun right now. We're just keeping it simple, trying to play in the (offensive) zone, trying to cycle the puck and bring pucks to the net and have traffic there. That's how we're creating some chances right now."

Overall this season, Couturier is tied for third on the team in scoring with 14 points (5 goals, 9 assists).
The Flyers are now 13-13-2 and with 28 points they are tied for third in the Metropolitan Division.
They have gone 2-1 so far on this trip, which runs for another week. In addition to the win over Detroit, they beat Nashville in a shootout on Saturday and then got shutout in Minnesota on Monday.
"It's not an easy road trip, going from one city to the other, especially with all the travel in the west," Couturier says. "But I think what's important (is) to take it just one game at a time and not to think too far ahead of ourselves and we should be fine."
Next up is the game in Dallas on Saturday. The Stars have 30 points heading into their game on Thursday night in Toronto.
"It's going to be another battle," Couturier says. "Dallas is a hard working team. They've got a pretty good record, a good team and we'll have to be ready from the get go."
After Dallas, the Flyers visit Ottawa on Monday and then the trip wraps up on Wednesday in Chicago.
Saturday's game will face-off at 2:00pm.
