Actor Bradley Cooper Back Home in Philadelphia To Promote His Next Movie

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Bradley Cooper, the Jenkintown native turned Hollywood actor, was in town today promoting his new film The Words, due out in theatres on September 7th.
Cooper says his newest movie is a story of love, ambition, and plagiarism.
"The movie's about an up-and-coming writer, talented, but he's just impatient. But he comes across a manuscript (and) he rewrites it onto his computer," Cooper reveals.

The film was written and directed by his childhood friends Brian Klugman (far right in photo), who attended Germantown Academy with Cooper, and Lee Sternthal (far left in photo), who graduated from Upper Dublin High School.
"When I first moved out to Los Angeles they did a reading of The Words, and that was the first time I had heard it," Cooper recalls. "That was 1999 or 2000."
And Cooper says it was fitting that they held their premiere screening of the film here in Philadelphia.
"My father worked at the clothespin for 20 years, and I used to love to ride down to work with him. My grandfather was a beat cop for 35 years here in the city, in the 15th District."
