Activists Converge on Pennsylvania Capitol For Gun Rallies, For and Against

HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS) -- Hundreds of activists on both sides of the gun control issue staged rallies today at Pennsylvania's capitol.
This morning, state representative Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler County) and others stood in frigid temperatures on the state capitol steps to restate their opposition to gun control.
"I support the Second Amendment," he told the crowd. "I will defend the Second Amendment. But Article 1, section 21 of the Pennsylvania Constitution says your right to bear arms in defense of yourselves in the state shall not be questioned!"
Later in the day, gun control supporters rallied inside the capitol (below). State representative Ronald Waters (D-Philadelphia) said no one's constitutional rights are under attack.

"We're not going after reasonable people, law abiding citizens," Waters told the crowd. "We're not going after them. We want to take crime out of our community, we want to take ugly out of our community, we don't want any more tragedies!"
Gun control supporters vow they are here to stay.
