Across the Delaware Valley, It Sure Doesn't Seem Like December
By Kim Glovas
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- With center city temperatures in the mid-60s today, it's hard to believe it's December 3rd.
And, with April-like temperatures, many people headed outside for their lunch break.
Toni and Lynn were walking on Independence Mall with their winter coats on but open, enjoying the warm weather.
Toni thinks this is some weird stuff for the beginning of December.
"It's scary because this is unusual," she tells KYW Newsradio. "I mean, c'mon, for this time of year? In our neck of the woods? Global warming! This is not what I'm used to, not how we grew up. And we're from Philadelphia and we know it's supposed to be cold!"
Aliza Nahama was sitting on bench in the sunshine nearby, and had similar thoughts.
"It's beautiful," she says. "I'm trying to embrace the weather as we're having it. In the back of my head I'm thinking, 'Why is it so warm in December?' but trying to be positive. "
Don't get used to it. A cold front is expected in a couple of days.
