ACA Changing The Way We Access Preventative Care

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, although still deeply controversial, is nonetheless changing the way all of us access preventative care.
The headlines have trumpeted Administration figures that more than 7 million people signed up for health care coverage through the exchanges.
But Antoinette Krauss, Director of the Pennsylvania Health Access Network, says an often-overlooked part of the reform package is cheaper access to preventative care.
"It applies to folks that have recently gotten health insurance in the health insurance marketplace but it also applies to folks that have already been enrolled in health insurance in the individual market, so I think it's important for folks to know that there are these new benefits and they are able to get screenings and physicals without a co-pay."
Krause says this saves lives, heartache and money by catching deadly ailments early.
