Above Average Temperatures Return This Week

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- So far this month, temperatures have averaged 2.7 degrees below average, but that will change over the next few days.
Typical summer conditions make a comeback as a warmer air mass continues to build across the mid-Atlantic, returning temperatures above average as we head towards Labor Day weekend.
Expect abundant sunshine on Tuesday and Wednesday with highs on Tuesday in the upper 80s and around 90 on Wednesday. The humidity will begin to increase each day but dew point temperatures top out in the mid 60s, this will make it feel humid but not oppressive.
A weak cold front will pass through dry on Wednesday night trimming back the temperatures to the mid 80s on Thursday and Friday. A warmer and more humid air mass will return for Labor Day weekend with a chance of some scattered showers and storms, especially on Sunday, as a cold front approaches.
Cristobal continues to slowly track northward away from the Bahamas and is forecast to become a hurricane on Wednesday. The track will remain well off the East Coast but larger swells and strong rip currents from the storm will be felt along the New Jersey and Delaware coast from mid to late week.
