Abington Police Searching For Door-slamming Armed Robber And Accomplice
ABINGTON, Pa. (CBS) – Police are searching for a door-slamming suspect who later returned to rob a gas station in Abington.
Around 5:30 p.m., a male came into the Shell gas station at 2542 Jenkintown Road and asked about having a tire fixed.
When the employee told the man there were no mechanics working, the man was apparently upset and slammed the door as he left.
The employee followed him out and asked him not to slam the door, and the man got into an older dark colored car, possibly a Subaru station wagon, and left.
At 8:07 p.m., the same man reportedly returned to the gas station with a gun and accompanied by another male.
The suspect asked the employee, "Are you gonna tell me not to slam the door now?"
At that point, the second male tried to open the cash register but had difficulty doing so, so the suspect with the gun held it to the employee's head and forced him to open the register.
The two males then fled the gas station on foot with the cash.
The armed male suspect is described as a black male, 25-35 years old and about 6'0" tall with a mustache and a medium length beard that had a longer part at the chin which was tied into a bundle with some type of band. He was wearing a dark colored sweatshirt and blue jeans.
The second male suspect is described as a black male who is about the same age as the first and approximately 5'11" tall. He has a dark complexion, a slight bear and was also wearing a dark colored sweatshirt and blue jeans.
Anyone with information is asked to call Abington Police at 267-536-1100.
