Aaron Rodgers Could See Limited Action, If Any, Vs. Eagles
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Preseason game No. 3 is always the most revealing. Typically, we get to see the starters at full-go for at least one half, and it's the closest resemblance of a regular season dress rehearsal.
So naturally, anticipation is high regarding the Eagles-Packers preseason game on Saturday night, as both teams enter 2015 among the favorites to represent the NFC in Super Bowl 50.
Unfortunately, but arguably appropriately, after losing star wideout Jordy Nelson for the season last week, the Packers may choose to drastically limit quarterback Aaron Rodgers. In fact, Packers coach Mike McCarthy could sit Rodgers all together.
"We're right where we need to be," Rodgers told reporters on Wednesday. "We've had some productive drives when we've been out there. I'm happy where we're at. We have some guys banged up right now, so not sure what the playing time will be, but whatever Mike [McCarthy] decides, I'm confident we'll be ready when the season starts."
