AAA Mid-Atlantic Warns Drivers To Be Prepared For Papal Visit

By Mike Dougherty

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- AAA Mid-Atlantic is advising drivers who plan to venture out into the papal pandemonium to have a plan.

Even if you're not attending Papal events in Philadelphia, AAA's Jana Tidwell says don't just wing it.

"You need to nail down your travel plans," she says. "You need to understand what the public transportation options are, the parking options and the times that all of those things are available."

Yes, this is all common sense. But keep in mind the travel restrictions will affect everyone, not just those who are planning to visit Philadelphia. Tidwell says do your homework.

"That same type of planning and preparation that you would put into preparing for a snow storm," she says, we recommend that you do the same thing."

She suggests packing a bag with water and snacks just in case.
