A Special Summer Garden Tour
By Phran Novelli
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - While Spring seems full of garden tours, I'm happy to say there's one coming up just as Summer gets underway on Saturday June 22nd from 9 am to 4 pm in Montgomery County, featuring four unique private gardens in the Upper Perkiomen Valley.
See cattle grazing, a cottage garden of blooming perennials, specimen trees, rows of rioting roses, a stunning view of the creek, or just sit quietly in a meditation garden. You can take your time, ask the owners how they planned and planted things, and just wander - there's no set route. But, with a wine-tasting from a local vineyard - A'Dello Wines - from 1 to 4 pm at one of the gardens, it might be smart to make that one your last stop.
And while you're smelling roses and sipping wine, 100% of your ticket price will be supporting victims of child abuse, because this garden tour is a benefit for the non-profit Victim Services Center in Montgomery County. So you'll enjoy a great day out while doing a lot of good.
