A Snowy End…February Brings A Break!

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Are we in Narnia? It feels like an endless winter and I even like snow!
A Major Winter Storm to our south (Mid-Atlantic States) will move out to sea, but not before leaving many of us with more snow to shovel.
The heaviest snow will fall South and East of Philadelphia.
A Winter Storm Warning is effect for Sussex County, DE and Cape May County, NJ for 4-6" of snow.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for interior south Jersey and Kent County, DE for 2-4" of snow.
In Philadelphia and surrounding suburbs a coating to 2" may accumulate.
It has been such a snowy month in Philadelphia (24.9" so far) that we are only .4" away from the topping the 3rd snowiest January on record.
The Snow will taper by sunrise Wednesday. With morning temperatures in the teens, any untreated roads, sidewalks and parking lots with be icy! So give yourself extra time heading out the door especially if you are traveling Southeast.
The only good news… the Arctic air will retreat behind the storm and more seasonable temperatures will return. Ironically, by the time February begins this weekend, the mercury will climb into the 40s with a chance of rain!
