A New Poll Indicates Support For President Obama In New Jersey Is Slipping A Bit
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A new poll indicates support for President Obama in New Jersey is slipping a bit.
The Monmouth University poll shows Obama's numbers to be, if nothing else, volatile.
"It's now 49% approve to 44% disapprove among all New Jerseyans and slightly lower among registered voters. 47% to 46% - an even split there. So that's a 13 point drop among voters compared to a poll that we took back in May, which was right after the death of Osama bin Laden, when he was riding a 60% high," said Poll Director Patrick Murray.
Mind you, that's still better than most national polls these days. So what's making those numbers go down? It's the economy.
Only 9% of respondents felt the middle class has been helped by the President's policies. Compare that to 19% for the poor, 33% for wealthy Americans and 49% for Wall Street.
